Alchemy’s mission is to restore dignity and distinction to cocktails; to serve remarkable and memorable food; all the while creating a social and sexy atmosphere that drives people in and keeps them coming back again and again. Alchemy is owned and operated by the following individuals: Bert Smythe, John Littlefield & Stewart Wingate.
Our Executive Chef is Nick Seabergh. A Vicksburg, MS native, Nick learned to cook at the apron strings of his grandmother, whose kitchen produced a smorgasbord of flavorful dishes that reflected her family’s Italian and German heritage sifted through the culinary traditions of her New Orleans and Mississippi Gulf Coast upbringing. He began pursuit of his culinary education with Delgado College in New Orleans and ended with a highly touted culinary bachelors degree program at MUW in Columbus, MS. Along the way, he also picked up a BA in History from University of Mississippi with a concentration in archaeology and worked as an archaeologist. Nick takes pleasures in the traditions of his heritage but also embraces the new, contemporary fare that drives the menu at Alchemy Memphis. With one foot planted deeply in the past and one in the future, Seabergh is a consummate steward of true Southern cuisine.
Our cocktail program is developed with the help of Andy Seymour of Liquid Productions out of NYC.
